Welcome To La Vie Bami!

Hello everyone (am I too arrogant to assume that more than one person will read this?) and welcome to LaVieBami!

Are you nervously wondering what this is, what the name “LaVieBami” means or simply who the heck am I? Yes? No? Well I’m going to answer to all these questions anyways.

First, I think the proper thing to do would be to introduce myself: my name is Michèle, but I go by Mich.

I’m 30 year-old Italian-born Cameroonian living in Romania Belgium (yep, I moved… again). Trust me it’s easier than it sounds.

I decided to create this blog back in 2013 but for various reasons I have always postponed it. I now feel that the timing is right so here it is: LaVieBami!

Before I decide to reveal the meaning behind this name (I’m still assuming you care), I should probably explain what this blog is about: life, mine to be more specific.

See, I’m a simple lady: I love food (a lot) and travelling (also a lot), so this is what this blog will mainly be, but not limited to, about.

Now, the moment you all have been waiting for, the question that has been roaming in your brain for the past 2 minutes: what does “LaVieBami” mean?

There are two answers to this question:

  • The first one is also the easiest: LaVieBami is simply another way of writing La Vie (“life” in French) By Me.. It’s self-explanatory.
  • The second one is a little harder to grasp: La Vie here still means “life” (“the life”, actually) and Bami is a nickname given to the Bamileke people of Cameroon.

Whichever way you flip this, the meaning is the same: this blog is a reflection of who I am and what I love.I really hope you will enjoy the content I will put out, if not, I’m open to constructive criticism.

Enjoy,

Mich
